Background
Troop 89 is a local unit of the Tall Grass District, Pathways to Adventure Council, Boy Scouts of America. The troop is chartered to St. Mary of Gostyn Parish in Downers Grove, IL. At the present time, the troop has over 40 active scouts. We have over 50 registered adult scouters, serving in various positions. Since the troop was chartered, many of our scouts have achieved the rank ot Eagle Scout.
Meetings
Troop Meetings are held each Monday night from 7:15p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at St. Mary of Gostyn Parish. Occasionally, meetings are held at Hummer Park or other outdoor sites.
Patrol Leaders' Council meetings are held monthly at 6:30 p.m. to plan the monthly campouts and troop meeting programs. This meeting is attended by the Senior Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Patrol Leaders, Assistant Patrol Leaders, OA Troop Representative and Troop Scribe.
Troop Committee meetings are generally held the 2nd Wednesday of each month, from 7:15 to 9:00 p.m. The Troop Committee assists in planning and carrying out the activities of the troop. The Committee is made up of the Committee Chair, Scoutmaster, Assistant Scoutmasters, Committee Members and interested parents.
